How claims work — two simple steps

1. File with Trupanion. For a covered accident or illness, file your claim directly with Trupanion. They reimburse 90% of eligible expenses.

2. We cover the difference. After Trupanion pays, you may still owe a one-time deductible and a 10% co-pay. Submit the short form below and we’ll reimburse you for that difference.

Example: a $1,000 vet bill → Trupanion pays $900 → your 10% ($100) + your deductible ($250) = we reimburse you $350.

Routine wellness visits, vaccinations, flea & tick prevention and other preventive care, pre-existing conditions, and initial exam fees are not covered.

Trupanion pays its 90% first. You may still owe a one-time deductible plus your 10% co-pay — that’s the difference. Submit the form on this page with your itemized invoice, Trupanion EOB, and proof of payment, and we’ll reimburse you for that difference.

No, DNA breed tests are not 100% accurate. While they can give a general idea of a dog’s breed makeup, results can vary significantly based on the testing company’s database and methodology. Even purebred dogs may show minor traces of other breeds due to natural genetic variation and historic crossbreeding.

We sell all of our puppies as-is. While most of our purebred puppies come with a four-generation pedigree and official registration, we cannot reimburse any part of the puppy’s price based on DNA test results or perceived inaccuracies. DNA testing can be a fun and informative tool, but it is not a definitive or guaranteed method for verifying breed.
